A new stage for AIM Architecture

Founded by Belgian and Dutch architects Wendy Saunders and Vincent de Graaf in 2005, AIM’s international practice brings together architecture, interior and product design. With a concept-driven, people-centred approach, AIM explores the intersection of vision and functionality, creating bold and unique spaces with powerful narratives.

To align with their innovative practice and their extensive scope of projects, AIM sought a new website that would embody their progressive approach and immersive nature of work. Studio Ongarato, tasked with this challenge, launched AIM’s new digital platform in August 2024 after a comprehensive research and design process.

AIM’s philosophy of creating “Theatres for Life” transforms spaces into environments where the real and imaginative intersect, creating innovative spaces that put people at the centre. Studio Ongarato embraced a Mise-en-scène approach, capturing the immersive, poetic qualities of AIM’s work.

Drawing inspiration from dramaturgical and linguistic elements of theatre and playing with a cinematic connotation, the website integrates a bold tone of voice with a reduced and deliberate visual language.

The website offers an engaging insight into AIM’s practice, featuring immersive imagery that invites viewers into the heart of their spatial concepts and enhancing the notion of spaces as stages for interaction and connection. Dynamic typographic elements add depth to the storytelling, reflecting AIMs courageous bold challenge to the status quo. Rich image-driven editorial case studies provide a deeper exploration of the captivating spaces AIM creates, while intuitive filters and cross-referencing tools offer a seamless navigation and holistic view of AIMs extensive scope of work.

The result is a confident, timeless digital presence that celebrates the impactful and immersive approach of AIM’s groundbreaking approach to architecture, interior and product design.
